CaseTrust accreditation
Just Tell Me
CaseTrust is CASE’s business accreditation scheme, assessing consumer-facing businesses against standards for clear policies, fair practices and handling disputes.
Also called: CaseTrust accreditation, CaseTrust mark
Explain Like I’m Five
A shop saying “trust us” is different from having its business practices assessed. CaseTrust checks areas such as how a business explains its policies and deals with customer problems. Qualifying businesses can display the CaseTrust mark.
Where You’ll Run Into It
On Singapore shopfronts and when comparing businesses such as renovation firms or spas. There are different accreditation schemes for different sectors.
When comparing package prices, a customer may also need to understand the GST line on a quote, alongside the business’s payment and refund policies.
Example
“This business displays CaseTrust. Which scheme is it accredited under?”
A customer checks the scope of the accreditation instead of treating the logo as a promise covering every possible problem.
The Part People Get Wrong
Accreditation does not mean disputes cannot happen. CaseTrust includes ways to handle them: an accredited business must attend CASE mediation when a consumer requests it. Certain schemes also require prepayment protection, but the coverage depends on the relevant scheme and payment.
